Giving credit where credit is due, I must report that we've had terrific results with the Rat Zapper in years past, but this year breaks all previous years records.....by a mile. Yesterday (01/27/12), marked the twentieth (20th) mouse sent on to "the happy hunting grounds in the sky" this winter. We live in the Catskill Mountains of Upstate New York and are surrounded by deep woods and open fields....prime mouse stomping grounds. Mice just come with the territory around here. Having our Rat Zappers strategically placed, allows us the luxury of nabbing the little buggers before they get in far enough to poop up the place. Our only suggestion would be to have one Rat Zapper unit that is constructed with a "low profile" for fitting in drawers that the mice like to frequent. All in all "two big thumbs up" for this product. keep up the good work !!

I got the Rat Zapper a few years ago for mice in my garage that is built on to my house. I lost count of how may mice I caught but they seem to catch more in the summer that winter.

If I had to guess how many I've caught, I would say 50+ mice and a couple of large chipmunks.
In damp weather the trap would blinks that it had a mouse and I would check and found nothing. I called the company and talked to nice lady and she said scrub the trap and let it dry out in the heat and it would be fine. I did this a year ago and now when it starts to flash and it's empty I just clean it. I use it in the doorway of the garage. The last few months it didn't catch anything but this morning low and behold I caught one. the trap works GREAT. I JUST RAN OUT OF MICE THE LAST FEW MONTHS

I never write testimonials, however, hooray for the RatZapper!!! I'm single, live alone and out of the blue, I was plagued with a rat problem (they chewed a floor board to come in from my raised foundation). I literally tried EVERYTHING...I would find paw prints in the sticky traps, totally eaten bait on the snap traps (even the huge ones)...I finally purchased another brand at Lowe's and after 4 weeks, gave up and returned it (they tell you to bait it with peanut butter). Finally purchased the RatZapper on line and within the first night had my first kill...Squeemish but happy, I dumped it into the trash without looking. Took 2 weeks before I saw a video showing the baiting process (front to back)..baited with dog food and WOW!!!!! 3 kills in 3 days..this has been a relief and as far as I'm concerned a miracle. Thanks so much from a girly girl who has to handle these problems. May purchase another for my garage! Woo Hoo--I love seeing that red light blink!

RatZappers are the best! No more of these fuzzy creatures about my house bothering my wife and eating my (dog's) dog food.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this ingenious invention that is worth every penny!!! Ease of use and disposal is especially appreciated.
We live in a wooded area so mice have periodically been a problem in our garage and basement. For 2 months, we had what I suspected to be a mouse periodically scurrying around in the ceiling above our family room which is next to our attached garage. I could hear it scratching and dropping things on the ceiling during the early evening hours and at around 3am. At one point the mouse dropped between the walls and was furiously gnawing on what sounded like drywall for over an hour, it drove my 3 cats and I absolutely crazy!!! My husband didn't believe me, he thought I was hearing things until he finally heard it for himself. We baited some snap traps and placed them in the garage but were not successful(although they have killed a few, found I can't put the damn cats out there-they usually will bring the mice alive into my house). In desperation, at around 3am the other morning, I started searching online and stumbled upon this product and bought three of the Ultras (2 for the basement and 1 for the garage)along with a Rat Tale. We have access to the attic in the garage so we immediately placed one of the Ultras on a rafter and dangled the Rat Tale so it hung from outside the attic access door. The next morning, I peeked out in the garage and was elated to see that the Rat Tale's eyes had lit up, sent the hubby to retrieve the Ultra and was thrilled to find a critter inside that looked like it was sleeping on its side. No more noises and finally I can sleep...

I have already submitted a testimonial and pic, but had to share the latest. After a couple weeks of nothing following the initial body count of 11, I checked the Rat Zapper this morning and found I had another whopper! He barely fit inside - are there any plans to make a larger diameter zapper for the king size rodents out there?

Love the product - chalk up #12 on the body count!!

This is a warning if you're even considering buying one of the "name-brand" pest control rodent zappers: Don't waste your money!

I had one Rat-Zapper Ultra that had been doing a great job of eliminating the mice that find their way into our home. Earlier this year I wanted to eliminate the little pests from my garage, so I purchased 2 of the " other" brand zappers from my local feed store. They were in the garage for a month. Had plenty of trips on the one, but no dead mice. The other, a multi-catch unit that promised to kill up to 10 mice before it needed to be emptied proved useless. The mice just wouldn't go inside it. I placed my Rat-Zapper Ultra in the garage and had to empty it every single day for 15 days straight!

I just bought another Ultra for the house, and I'll be getting another for the basement. The snap traps I'm using down there just won't trip. All I end up doing is refilling them with bait most of the time.

My advice? Just get the Rat-Zapper Ultra and be done with it!

I saw a mouse last summer by my dog's dish. I screamed, and then hoped it would just go away. This fall they started to act as if they owned the house. I would see them running along the walls, find their icky little droppings on my kitchen counters. I'd hear them rattling around in the mornings. Eeew.

I am a real coward and am terrified of these little critters, but I didn't really want to kill them. I definitely didn't want to poison them--I guess it's a horrible way to die. When I finally realized they weren't going to just go away I got the standard mouse traps.

My daughter had to come and empty them for me because I couldn't deal with them. I got six or so, including one who drowned in my dog's water dish. And then they got smart and started eating the peanut butter right out of the traps. I felt as if I was giving them a snack every night.

I finally went to Ace Hardware looking for the mythical better mousetrap, and he suggested the RatZapper. Within hours the little light was blinking, and I could empty it myself! In less than two weeks there were 19 of the little critters zapped in the trap. I finally found where they were getting in and sealed it up. Three days and no mice! This product is great, and saved my sanity. Thank you so much for this great product.

Figured we had a small rodent problem because we could occasionally hear one in the crawlspace or in the attic. We tried one of those "ultrasonic" emitters and cotton balls soaked in pine cleaner, but to no good effect. A few days ago my wife saw a rat going up over the edge of our covered porch, so, time for more direct action.

After a bit of research we decided to try the Rat Zapper. Frankly, I expected to be disappointed, especially after a rat stole the dog food out of the trap (after a bait period) without getting zapped. We decided to keep trying, however, and I have to say we were wrong. We didn't have a "little" rat problem. Our two Rat Zappers got 15 rats in a period of about 36 hours. At one point, it almost seemed like the rats were waiting in line to get zapped.

Haven't had any rats in the past 24 hours. I hope that means we've eliminated the problem (though I plan to keep the zappers in place and baited for the foreseeable future).

Your product works as advertised. Thanks.

No fuss, no mess, just dead. 2 to 3 rats a week. Have gotten two mongoose too and they are pretty big, only fit about half way in the trap. Even got a big cockroach twice. Bought one for our son who thought he had one tricky mouse and he caught 4 mice in one day! Sometimes the humidity makes it short out, but a blow dryer on low from a couple feet away for about 30 seconds takes care of that.

This is the first time I have ever gone online to promote a product I have purchased. The Rat Zapper is great. A natural cynic, I scoffed at the instructions suggestion to check the trap often, that it would get a mouse the first night I put it out. I had already tried for 3 weeks, with 4 snap traps, in various configurations. The tiny mice were able to take the bait without tripping the snap traps, even after I greased them to make them extra sensitive.
Rat Zapper to the rescue. First night, it killed a mouse. Second night, kill. Third night, kill. Fourth night nothing - are we mouse free? Nope. Fourth night, kill.
Clean, easy to operate, and EFFECTIVE. So satisfying.
Also, I'm using regular Energizer batteries, and haven't had to change them yet. It's only been five days, but I'm already impressed enough to take the time to post this commentary.

We purchased the Rat Zapper Ultra last month to try to get rid of some rats that seem to be coming from a neighbor's untrimmed palm tree. Thought it might work on the squirrel problem in our back field also. To date, we have killed 2 skunks and really annoyed another (that one sprayed all over our car port and a Classic Mustang!!!). That's ok with us, as the skunks have been "roto-tilling" up our flower beds and yards all season, digging for grubs! Here's a photo of the smallest one. Used dry cat food. Pretty good product. We think the bait we used previously may have gotten the rats, as there has been no further chewing by them, but the Zapper will stay out and ready!

I was very skeptical about this product but am totally convinced now after getting numerous mice and ground squirrels in them. They are so clean, effective and easy to use. I just place a couple black sunflower seeds in mine, set it and check in a day or so for the blinking light which lets me know I've got a critter!!! Works every time and they are great for indoors since I have a cat and don't want him getting his paws stuck on glueboards or nose in a trap. I've recommended these to many people. Thanks!

Two kills in six hours with the Ultra and it's baited and armed for more. Works fantastic. We're hoping this solves our rat problem.

We bought the RatZapper yesterday. We had a rat come into our house, read about this and thought might as well because I was squeamish about the older rat traps. I did not follow the directions of giving the rat a "free" meal, we wanted him gone. I put dried apple and cut up a overripened apple and put a small piece at the entrance and in the back. Turned it on, this morning the red light was blinking!!! Could it be that it only took one night! YES!!! We got him, thanks to RatZapper I will recommend this to anyone!!! JM from Hawaii

I tell everyone who tells me they have a rodent problem about the RatZapper. It is the perfect blend of effectiveness and cleanliness.

The first night I used it, I averaged 1 dead mouse per hour and after 5 hours my mouse problem was over.

In the past I've used standard snap traps, glue traps, human traps...and all of them worked to some degree for special circumstances. But the RatZapper is the best overall solution!

I am a graduate student living in Leiden, the Netherlands.

I live in a single room of an old house, and it is full of small mice here. Late evenings, especially after midnight, were a real torment because they would get in and use the room as if it were theirs. I tried some deadfall traps and snap traps but no success, the mice are too small to move the trigger mechanism.
I came across this unit online (the Rat Zapper classic), and bought it. I caught 6 mice within 3 days, and 8 within a week. I have no mice activity any longer, but i am still keeping it on.

Great product, that does its job wonderfully. It shows no remorse for small mice, which are really hard to catch with other traps.

I noticed they had chewed a hole in a board leading to my crawlspace looking for a nice place to be over the winter, so I first tried conventional snap traps, but that was a mess when it did work, and often didn't get the rat.

I ordered the Rat Zapper, and so far have bagged 9 of them in just a few weeks! One was so large, I could barely get her out of the Zapper! That's a quart brake fluid bottle next to her in the can.

Best money I've ever spent - gets them big & small! I did notice that some were getting away with the bait, so I put a small piece of terry cloth towel outside the entrance and wet it down - the added moisture on their feet sure did the trick! The next day I got the one that had been escaping with the bait. I just wish they had the rain guard in stock when I ordered it, as I had to improvise with an old snow shovel.

I never write testimonials. Ever. But I have to write one about this.

We've been bugged with mice for 2 years. They've come in the walls and find their way in our cupboards and ruin tons of food. We eventually moved our food to safe locations but that jammed up our entire kitchen. We wanted to use our cabinets again, so we decided to buy a RatZapper after EVERY other trap failed to catch ONE.

We caught one the first night we used it. I am thinking of putting a sticker in the back of it that reads, "say 'ello to my little friend".

But that might be overkill. (get it?)

It took a few weeks, but eventually the local population took note and the killing began. The first rat went in for the bait, but the shock made him fly out backwards, along with the bait, and his carcass was found several feet away (all this took place in a shed). The subsequent catches all remained within the trap, making disposal simpler. To date there have been 4 rats and mouse killed. In my opinion this is the best rodent removal system I have ever used. Incidentally, the 4 original D-cells are still going strong.

RIP rats. We had a rat problem at work until I purchased the Rat Zapper Ultra. Wow, what a great product! No more snap traps, no more sticky traps - just dead rats. We bait the Zapper with a little cheesecloth baggie filled with crunchy cat food. Only problem for the rats is that they never reach the food. And as you can see from the attached photo these are big rats and the zapper lays them out cold.
Thanks for an effective and entertaining product. It makes coming to work a little more exciting.
